The Classical Guitar Performance program prepares students with the training and background to succeed as a professional classical guitarist. Students graduate with comprehensive musicianship skills, performance capability, analytic abilities, and stylistic knowledge.

Jazz and Contemporary Music, BM
The Jazz and Contemporary Music program develops students' improvisation abilities and helps each student realize her or his unique voice as a performer and as an arranger/composer.
Music Composition, BM or MM

The Music Composition program challenges individual composers to hone their creative skills. Students will cultivate the ability to use all of the building blocks of music to create a diverse portfolio of original works, gain necessary professional skills, and explore a wide variety of musical styles as they develop their unique voices.

The Music Education and Performance program offers a combination of teacher preparation course work with the full spectrum of performance-related studies.

The Music History and Theory minor offers additional studies for students seeking a bachelor's degree in Performance, Music Education, or Composition.
Musical Arts, BMA
The Bachelor of Musical Arts degree is an interdisciplinary program with intentional curricular flexibility. It is designed for the student with a strong academic background who wishes to combine the study of music with an emphasis in a second field outside music. Students' programs are individualized according to their interests and culminate in a senior project that melds their work in music with their second discipline.

Opera, PED

The Professional Diploma in Opera program offers singers and pianists of exceptional career promise two years of continued guidance in their development as artists. Participants are given weekly voice lessons, vocal and dramatic coaching, seminars, and performance classes concentrating on audition preparation with CCPA's illustrious faculty, all while receive a 100 percent tuition scholarship.

The Orchestral Studies program prepares students majoring in a woodwind or brass instrument, harp, double bass, or percussion for a career as orchestral musicians.

Performing Arts Administration, MA

The Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration is designed to hone the skills of current and aspiring administrators and to cultivate the next generation of great professionals within the field. Students in this selective program will take a broad range of courses in the areas of marketing, public relations, finance, development, technology, community engagement and more. Course work is taught by current and former senior administrators of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and League of American Orchestras, among others, all of whom have firsthand knowledge and experience in the field.

Piano, BM, MM or Diploma

Our world-renowned piano faculty, comprised of distinguished pedagogues and some of today's most pre-eminent concert artists, offers the highest quality of teaching. The type of students we cultivate become more experienced performers, but also learn to explore their creativity and have a more informed sense of the historical and philosophical context behind the music. Students learn how music works in conjunction with art and literature, become acquainted with historical performance practice, develop a hunger to discover excellent contemporary music, and most importantly, develop their own individual artistry and musical vision.

Theatre Directing, MA

Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, CCPA is just steps away from Chicago's bustling theatre district and the Tony award-winning Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Lookingglass Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.

The MA in Directing is a summer-only adult degree completion program for current teachers and theatre directors. This program is not intended for recent graduates looking to become directors.

Voice, BM or MM

The CCPA voice program provides a nurturing environment to develop young artists, led by world-class artist-teachers. All students in our program study privately with their applied teacher for the duration of their degree program, and starting in the sophomore year also have a weekly private lesson with our vocal coaches.
