“The Orchestral Studies program was created for young musicians who are on the cusp of becoming professional orchestral players and who would like to work intensively on the preparation required to succeed in this field. The program is open to a limited number of highly skilled musicians who work with our prestigious music faculty and ensemble conductors to further their preparation of orchestral repertoire. All students regularly rehearse and perform with our large ensembles, while also attending orchestral audition workshops where our faculty evaluate their mock auditions. There is no better way to prepare for taking auditions and performing as a professional musician than to focus on it during one’s studies.”
All applicants must submit a performing arts application, all required supplemental items, and present an audition (live in Chicago, live at a regional location, or via online recording) to be considered for admission. For more information, please see our admission requirements page.
All audition repertoire requirements are contained within the performance area pages for your instrument area. Please review the requirements carefully.
