SensusAccess is a free online service for Roosevelt students, faculty and staff. It converts text and image-based files like PDFs, Word documents, and scanned images, into accessible formats such as e-books, MP3 audio, digital Braille, and more. With SensusAccess, you can easily transform inaccessible files into formats that work for everyone. To begin converting documents, you can upload files through the web form and choose the output format or other conversion options.
Once your file has been converted, you will receive a notification via the email you provide in the web form. SensusAccess will only support requests from individuals using a valid Roosevelt e-mail address. The e-mail notification will contain the converted document or a hyperlink to download the file. Documents submitted to the service are automatically deleted once they have been converted, and your personal information is not stored.
You can use SensusAccess to change your files in several ways:
The quality of the converted document depends on the quality of the original file. A scanned document with skewed text, dark marks, smudges, underlined, or highlighted text may lead to lower accuracy in the resulting file. While SensusAccess can successfully convert a variety of input and output file formats, you should always review the converted document and make any necessary adjustments.
