How the Housing Application Process Works
Students planning to live in the Wabash Builidng or University Center are considered to live in "on-campus" housing and need to apply for their housing through the Office of Residence Life and Housing each year.
Here’s what to expect when you apply:
- You should ony apply for housing after you have been admitted to Roosevelt and paid your admission deposit.
- Visit the Housing Portal
- Sign in using your Roosevelt University NetID (Username and password)
- Find your NetID if you don't know it, or activate it if you haven't already done so
- Select the term for which you are trying to apply
- Pay the housing deposit
- Pay the housing application fee
- Sign the Housing Contract and submit your application - Download a PDF with detailed instructions
Once your application is complete ,ti will be processed by Residence Life, depending on availability of beds.
Important: Housing Contract
Before signing your contract, make sure you understand the details:
- The contract is binding for the full academic year (fall and spring)
- You agree to pay the full cost of housing and meal plan
- Housing is not offered by semester, except for some students starting in the spring semester

Summer Housing
Summer housing is available for students who need to stay on campus between semesters.
- There are 4 different contracts available between late May through early August
- Requires a separate application in the Housing Portal

Housing Waitlist
There are 660 beds in the Wabash building and 200 beds in the University Center, making on-campus housing limited. When more students apply for housing than available spaces, additional applicants are placed on a waitlist. Here's what to know about the housing waitlist.
Housing Deposit & Waiver
Deposit
The Housing Deposit must be paid in order to secure your place in on-campus housing.
Deposit Waiver (If Needed)
If you’re experiencing financial difficulty, you can request a housing deposit waiver:
- Submit a request by emailing Financial Aid Services
- If approved, the waiver will be applied in your Housing Portal
- You’ll receive an email once you can continue your application
Deposit Refunds
- You must inform the Office of Residence Life & University Housing that you want to cancel your housing by June 1st for fall semester and January 1st for spring semester.
- To submit a cancellation, students must submit the Housing Contract Cancellation Request form on the Housing Portal.
- Any refunds are processed by the Financial Aid Services office and requests must be made to them directly, this includes students who fully withdraw from the University.
- Refunds will be made subject to outstanding debts owed to the University.

Is my housing guaranteed once I apply?

You may be able to cancel your contract depending on timing. Refund eligibility depends on deadlines and university policy.
