How the Housing Application Process Works
Students planning to live in the Wabash Builidng or University Center are considered to live in "on-campus" housing and need to apply for their housing through the Office of Residence Life and Housing each year.
Here’s what to expect when you apply:
- You should ony apply for housing after you have been admitted to Roosevelt and paid your admission deposit.
- Visit the Housing Portal
- Sign in using your Roosevelt University NetID (Username and password). Find your NetID if you don't know it, or activate it if you haven't already done so.
- Select the term for which you are trying to apply
- Pay the housing deposit: $250. In the event of a contract cancellation prior to the start of the semester the following refund options are available:
- If the cancellation has been submitted before June 1st (for the Fall semester) or BEFORE January 1st for Spring, students will receive a refund directly to the card for which they submitted the payment. Refunds will be made subject to outstanding debts owed to the University.
- If the cancellation has been submitted after June 1st for the Fall or January 1st for the Spring, the housing deposit is forfeited to the University.
- Housing Deposit Waiver: A student may request a housing deposit waiver (i.e. a waiver of the $250 application fee). The student should reach out to Financial Aid Services (FAS) to request a waiver. Once the waiver has been processed and approved by Financial Aid Services, FAS will reach out to the Office of Residence Life. If approved, this will then allow the student to bypass the $250 payment section.
- Pay the housing application fee: $50. This fee is non-refundable, even if the student is no longer attending the university. Note: There is no waiver for the $50 housing application fee.
- Sign the Housing Contract and submit your application - Download a PDF with detailed instructions
Once your application is complete, it will be processed by the Office of Residence Life, depending on availability of beds.
Tips for Submitting Your Housing Application
- Method of Payment: Please only utilize credit or debit card to make your housing deposit and housing application payments. Do NOT use ApplePay or Cash App.
- Ensure that you press SUBMIT at the end of your housing application. You SHOULD receive a confirmation email to your student email that your housing application has been submitted. If you did not receive that email, it is likely that you did not press SUBMIT.
Housing Application Deadlines
- Spring 2027 applications open November 1st
- Fall 2027 applications open in early March for returning residents and in mid-March for new / transfer residents.
Room Selection Process
- Residents who live on campus during the spring semester and who completed their housing application before April 1st will get to select their rooms in early to mid April.
- Residents who live on campus during the spring semester and who completed their housing application between in early to mid April will get to select their rooms in late April to early May.
- Students who do not live on campus in the spring semester, who completed their housing application before the end of May will get to select their rooms in early June.
Note: Exact dates for the Room Selection process will be sent out to residents who have completed their housing application in full.
Due to high demand for campus housing, housing applications received after the posted Priority Deadlines are added to the waitlist, pending space availability. As housing inventory changes throughout the summer, Residence Life & Housing will continue making assignments and communicating directly with students regarding available opportunities.
