Alicia Butler, Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising
Alicia completed her Bachelor of Art in Sociology at Western Illinois University and her Master of Education in Higher Education at Loyola University. Alicia has worked in higher education for over 10 years. She began her Roosevelt career in 2008 in academic advising.
She loves her hometown Chicago and is a devout Chicago Bulls fan. Alicia enjoys watching HGTV, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, their family and friends.

Linda Davis - Assistant Director, Advising
Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University, and is currently pursuing her PhD, ABD in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.
Linda has a passion for helping students and believes that every student has the potential to be successful and happy and she is committed to working with them to realize that potential. In her free time, Linda enjoys traveling, shopping, spending time with her family and friends and watching reality TV.

Danette Schulz – Assistant Director of Academic Advising and Career Development Center, Schaumburg Campus

Danette is a career changer who joined Roosevelt University in 2007 as an Academic Advisor while completing her Master of Arts in School Counseling. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Northern Illinois University and is a skilled professional with over 15 years of experience in management, sales, and special projects including 10 years of experience in education.
She enjoys working in a diverse Higher Ed environment supporting students with their academic and career goals. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping farmers markets, baking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Lois Backas, Academic Advisor
Lois is a Roosevelt Alum. She obtained her Bachelor’s in History and her Master’s in Literature. She has had many roles at the University including secretary, union steward, graduate assistant, and for 32 years, she was the Assistant Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences. After retiring, she chose to come back to Roosevelt and serve as an academic advisor.
She believes in the mission of social justice at Roosevelt, and is proud of the university’s history. As Assistant Dean she gave out the diploma to her 75 year old father, and her 22 year old son – both of whom graduated from Roosevelt in recent history.
She enjoys traveling, reading, movies, and is trying to learn Spanish. She also loves to play with her grandsons.

Erin O’Neill – Academic Advisor
Erin completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago. She majored in Communication Studies and minored in Math and Polish, a language she is still working on mastering. She then worked for a year as a high school substitute teacher before beginning her graduate program. She earned a Master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
While at Marquette, she worked as an Assistant Hall Director and in the Business Career Center, assisting students with career readiness in the field of business. Getting to know students and helping them realize and achieve their goals is why Erin went into Student Affairs, and what she hopes to do at Roosevelt. In her free time she loves trying new recipes, painting, and cheering on her favorite sports teams – Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, and Manchester United!

Kaelyn Schulz – Academic Advisor
Kaelyn graduated from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s in English and is currently earning a Master’s in Training and Development at Roosevelt University.
Kaelyn started her career as an Academic Advisor and has since spent 6+ years working in a variety of positions in Higher Education. She is committed to empowering students with the skills and guidance to accomplish their goals and proud to support Roosevelt’s mission of inclusivity and diversity.
In her free time, she enjoys wandering the Art Institute, exploring the shelves of the Harold Washington Library and eating at as many Chicago restaurants as possible.

Courtney Williams – Academic Advisor
Courtney completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Relations. She completed her graduate degree in Education and Educational Leadership. She started her career in higher education as a Resident Assistant and has since worked in various roles within the educational field, but takes a special attentiveness in academic advising.
She has a passion for social justice and positive change. She is a natural born motivator and enjoys helping people reach and obtain their lifetime goals. She believes that every student deserves a chance, and she has dedicated her life to empower each person that crosses her path.
