Explore Black Wellness with Vinyasa Vibes Yoga: Monday, February 10 at 1 p.m. in WB 317

Join Bryanhdi Flagg and Vinyasa Vibes for a 1 hours class  with a chill yoga flow mostly to the tunes of 90s/2000’s R&B.  Vinyasa vibes aims to make yoga a safe space for Black children, teens and adults on the far Southside of Chicago. Through the sounds of R&B, Neo-Soul, Hip-Hop and the guidance of a Black instructor, we normalize Black culture in yoga and make space for us to access this powerful healing practice. You will be encouraged to listen to your body as a way to create a deeper understanding of yourself.

Yoga mats will be provided.

A Conversation on Black Organizing with Eva Maria Lewis: Monday, February 20 at 6 p.m. in the Sullivan Room

Join SEIE, SPEED, Roosevelt Diversity & Inclusion and Eva Maria Lewis for a fireside conversation on the lived experiences of a community-based organizer working to honor all parts of herself in the work. We will be discussing the attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion work and funding and its impact on the futures of Black community organizations like Free Root Operation that are focusing addressing root systemic causes of gun violence through a method of critical care encompassing expansive, wraparound wellness and economic development services.
