With a Cardiovascular Sonography degree from Roosevelt, you’ll be prepared to enter the growing healthcare world with the ability to operate ultrasound equipment and identify blood flow problems with vascular imaging. Students can finish their degree in 4.5 years with clinical training from our partner at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Cardiovascular Sonography program students can earn certifications for both RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) while enrolled in the program, making them more appealing to healthcare employers.
Students spend the last 1.5 years of the Cardiovascular Sonography program working with real patients and doctors in the Northwestern Memorial Hospital System. You’ll learn to operate ultrasound equipment, make 3D heart scans and record vascular images of veins to identify cardiovascular issues.
Our Cardiovascular Sonography program’s small cohort and dedicated faculty ensure you’ll receive personalized guidance and practical advice from healthcare professionals.
A cardiac sonographer uses specialized ultrasound equipment to capture images of the heart, helping physicians diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions.
The most efficient and comprehensive path to becoming a cardiac sonographer is by earning a bachelor’s degree, which at Roosevelt includes preparation for and completion of RDCS and RVT certifications as part of the curriculum.
Cardiac sonographers can earn competitive salaries, often ranging from around $70,000 to $90,000+ annually depending on experience, location and credentials.
