Dr. Weronika Zuczek, OTD, OTR/L
Dr. Zuczek has earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her doctoral research focused on the role of occupational therapy in developing transition-related and self-determination skills for young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to prepare them for life after high school. Currently, she practices as a pediatric occupational therapist in outpatient clinics, specializing in Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based (D.I.R.) Floortime, sensory processing, and play-based therapy. She is excited to join the founding team of educators in building the emerging Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) at Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, IL.
Dr. Zuczek has previously served as Adjunct Faculty at Lewis University in the Occupational Therapy Department and presented guest lectures at the University of Illinois at Chicago for undergraduate and master’s-level occupational therapy courses. She has mentored Fieldwork level I and II students in telehealth and outpatient pediatric settings and volunteered as an occupational therapist providing transition-related evaluations and services to young adults in local high schools and community programs in the Chicagoland area. Her scholarship interests encompass occupational therapy’s role in providing transition services for the adolescent population and leadership and advocacy efforts within the profession. She has presented locally at conferences on occupational therapy’s role in school transition services and related advocacy initiatives.
