About Me

Dr. Díaz is a middle school teacher and currently serves as the ELL/Dual-Language Lead Teacher at Abbott Middle School in School District U-46. He has taught graduate-level courses related to social justice in education and educational leadership at the University of Missouri-St. Louis as an Adjunct Professor of Education. His research interests include national identity discourses in education, student subjectivities regarding national identity, the critical thinking process, and political ideology discourses promoted in schools. In addition, Dr. Díaz uses the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and its pedagogical implications for the improvement of bilingual education.
