About Me
Dr. Amrendra Kumar is a licensed occupational therapist and experienced educator with over 25 years of clinical and academic experience. He currently serves as Assistant Clinical Practice Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program at Roosevelt University. In this role, he oversees Level I and II fieldwork education, ensures compliance with ACOTE accreditation standards, and supports student success through experiential learning and community partnerships.
Dr. Kumar holds a PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Neurological Rehabilitation from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. His clinical expertise spans outpatient, skilled nursing, and home health settings, with a particular focus on upper extremity rehabilitation. He is the developer of the Chicago-Quick Hand Function Test (C-QHFT), a validated assessment tool designed to evaluate hand function across adult populations.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Kumar is actively engaged in research, curriculum development, and interprofessional education initiatives. He is passionate about advancing equity in healthcare and preparing future practitioners to meet the evolving needs of diverse communities.
