About Me
Claire Nelson is a Graduate Admissions Counselor working primarily with CHESS and CSHP programs. She joined the Admissions team as Transfer Admissions Counselor in June 2024. Claire is currently pursuing her Masters in Secondary Education at Roosevelt with hopes of becoming a high school English teacher and passing on her love of Jane Austen and bell hooks.
Prior to Roosevelt, she worked for several education and women’s health non-profits, working to bring equity and access to underserved populations. Claire worked as a Student Ambassador and Freshman Admissions Intern in the admissions department at her alma mater, North Central College, for three years before graduating summa cum laude with her BA in English & Theatre Studies. Outside of education, Claire is a voracious reader (still hoping to start a Roosevelt Admissions book club), writer, theatre-maker, social butterfly, and self-proclaimed comedienne.
