The University will comply with all provisions of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN). The Illinois WARN Act requires employers with 75 or more full-time employees to give employees and state and local government officials 60 days advance notice of facility closing or mass layoff. “Mass layoff” means a reduction in force which results in employment loss at a single site of employment during a 30-day period for:

  1. At least 33% of the employees (excluding part-time employees) and at least 25 employees (excluding part-time employees); or
  2. At least 250 employees (excluding part-time employees).
