The Masters of Science in Accounting (MSA) program is designed to enable graduates in the liberal arts, sciences, engineering, and other fields, as well as graduates in business, to complete a professional accounting program on a part-time or full-time basis.  The masters degree in accounting coursework stresses teamwork and group projects, with many case analyses and written and oral presentations. Above all, we expect each student to contribute to the education of his or her colleagues, believing that adult learners have considerable expertise to share with classmates.

This includes weeknight classes in both Schaumburg and downtown Chicago.

Expectations & Requirements


Students work on teams in small classes, completing at least 31 semester hours of core accounting skills. Curriculum includes asset valuation, income determination, auditing, managerial accounting and federal taxation. The MSA program offers two tracks: 1) professional accounting and 2) forensics accounting. Students in the MSA program may choose either of two tracks. The MSA program also enhances the student’s preparedness to earn the following designations: the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA).
