About Me

Edward L.W. Green, Ph.D. sociologist in the Criminal Justice department of Roosevelt University, originally from London, Kentucky, focuses on the sociology of punishment, criminological theory and corrections.  He is actively engaged in qualitative prison research and the study of prisonization.  Edward's dissertation, “Weight of the Gavel,” focuses on identity transitions of long-term inmates in five Midwest prisons. More generally, he is interested in the relationship between citizen, state, and harm.
