Office of Residence Life & Housing Staff

In the Office of Residence Life, Graduate Assistants work closely with undergraduate student staff and assist with departmental and residents' needs. GAs support residents by hosting events, study hours, advertising information from the office, and assisting with student’s roommates and facility issues when they arise. They serve as a contact for our Resident Assistants in the after-hours to ensure that there is someone for residential students to access if there are any personal, interpersonal, facility, medical or mental health situations.

In the Wabash building, there are 15 Resident Assistants also referred to as RAs. All RAs live in the building—one for every floor, except 15 & 17, where the RA lives on the 17th floor. RAs are hired and trained by the Office of Residence Life and serve as residents' main contact person for any situations they have questions for. 

RAs are trained on handling interpersonal conflict and well versed in university resources. RAs help students build community and get connected via hosting building and floor events, floor meetings and informational bulletin boards found on every floor. Students living on campus should always contact their RA if they are dealing with any issues on campus. 

In the University Center, there are 5 Resident Assistants from Roosevelt University, serving on a team alongside the RAs from the other schools housed at the UC. RAs provide educational opportunities, host fun events, and connect you to resource and support services on campus. RAs can also help residents address roommate conflicts and assist in your adjustment to college life.

In the Office of Residence Life, Office Assistants (OAs) assist the full-time professional staff with office operations and answering phone calls. OAs assist all visitors and callers to the office for a variety of housing or dining related questions and are trained in helping students get connected to other necessary university resources.
