The Public Finance certificate is a sequence of four courses (12 hours) intended to provide individuals who are currently working in the public sector a set of basic skills that will assist them in understanding the financing of policy in government organizations. The certificate covers the following areas:

  • Concepts, methods, and processes of financial management with an emphasis on the public sector
  • How the finance and policy processes impact public service delivery, civil rights, and social/economic justice in the following areas:
    • Education
    • Healthcare
    • Housing
