I’m a professor and creative writer in the areas of African-American literature and culture and the Environmental Humanities. 

My forthcoming book With Nature as Our Witness: How America’s Enslaved Ancestors Found the Love of Earthly Being is forthcoming from Humans and Nature Press in Spring 2027.
