The Learning Commons offers personalized academic support through Peer Tutoring and Peer Mentoring to help students thrive in and out of the classroom.
Peer Tutors provide assistance with coursework, including starting and completing assignments, drafting and revising papers, organizing and practicing presentations, strengthening reading comprehension and analytical skills, and preparing for exams. Tutoring is available in a variety of subjects, including Math, Writing, History, Music Theory/History, Psychology, Computer Science, Economics, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Political Science.
Peer Mentors work one-on-one with students to develop the skills and strategies needed for academic success. Mentors can help students build campus connections, manage time effectively, set goals, balance responsibilities, improve study habits, navigate university resources, and create supportive learning environments. Through ongoing guidance, Peer Mentors support student persistence, motivation, and well-being.
