Two-page, 12 point font, double-spaced essay: “Are there differences between public sector (including non-profit) administration and private sector administration?” Applicants must explain how they arrived at their answer(s), including specific examples of differences and similarities.
Please note: Send this essay as a Word attachment to applyru@roosevelt.edu. The subject line should read: "MPA Admission Essay.” The attachment should include your full name and contact information, such as telephone and preferred email address.
Additional requirements for applicants with GPAs below 3.0 only: resume of professional work history as well as community experience/involvement, along with personal statement describing desire to pursue public administration, and two letters of recommendation.

Required Documents:
- Personal statement (2-3 pages detailing your reasons for applying; your background in WGS-related education and/or experience, and your research, professional, and/or personal goals for graduate study)
- Scholarly/professional writing sample (10-15 pages; your submission may be a paper accepted for previous coursework; an authored report for a community or political organization, or a published article)
- Two confidential letters of recommendation. Letters from college or university faculty with whom you have worked are preferred. Alternatively, letters from references who can attest to your scholarly abilities and/or your professional experience may be submitted.and two letters of recommendation.
- A list composed by the applicant of all completed WGS-related courses. Include level (undergraduate or graduate), course title, and department. Courses may be from multiple disciplines. Students with little or no academic background in WGS may be required to enroll in undergraduate WGS coursework at Roosevelt as a pre-requisite for graduate study.
