The Division of Student Affairs is committed to enhancing our students’ academic experience and personal development by providing a comprehensive range of support services and opportunities that foster intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) is the student advocate center for both campuses. Students needing assistance in resolving student problems and reviewing university policies and decisions should contact the Dean of Students.

Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities

  • Educates students about and promotes the Community Standards on campus and the Student Code of Conduct. The staff involved play a supportive role in the development of responsible student behavior and responsible decision-making.
  • Responsible for managing the Student Misconduct Process. The process is intended to be educative and not punitive to student academic progress except for the most egregious of cases.
  • Provides structure and leadership for the Student Conduct Hearing Board

Students of Concern

Coordinated by the Office of the Dean of Students, the SOC Team responds to concerns about students and provides intervention and timely outreach to students who are believed to be in distress or who are displaying concerning behaviors. The SOC Team consists of representatives from various departments and frequently consults with faculty and staff to make referrals to campus and community resources. 

Title IX

Title IX is a federal law expressed via Roosevelt University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and was created to protect the entire university community from any discrimination based on gender or sex. The laws and university policy applied to individuals participating or seeking to participate in the educational program or activity. Title IX complaints go through a formal investigation process.

Veterans Success Center

Veterans and Military Center handles all things military at Roosevelt University including The Veterans Success Grant, Students of America, VA Vital, Awarding of VA Benefits, Orientations, Cording Ceremonies and ROTC.

Testing Center

The Testing Center is an established a professional and academic testing center on the grounds of Roosevelt University. 

Career Services

Assist students and alumni with opportunities to explore career paths and develop marketable career readiness and competencies. Career Services oversees Student Employment, Career Fairs, Skills Workshops, Professional Mentoring, Internships, Career Services Class, Assessments  

Reentry Support Institute 

Provide skills training, employment preparation and case management assistance to formerly incarcerated individuals returning to the Chicagoland area. 

International Students and Global Scholar Services

The Office of Global Scholars Services serves all international students, exchange visitors, and students interested in studying abroad at Roosevelt University.  The office assists students with any immigration status including undocumented students and DACA recipients. 

Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Experiences

Enhance and support student involvement on campus by creating communities of belonging. 

Residence Life and University Housing

The Office of Residence Life and Roosevelt University is dedicated to promoting our departmental values of Dignity & Social Justice, Interpersonal Development, Community, and Safety. Centered in the heart of the city of Chicago, we are committed to teaching residents to be global citizens.

Student Advocacy

Our office works with other offices at Roosevelt University and community-based agencies to help students solve problems and develop self-advocacy skills. We empower students to overcome these obstacles and develop strategies to succeed.
 
The Office of Student Advocacy works to:

  • Provide campus resource information and referrals to community resources addressing housing and food insecurity needs of RU students.
  • Engage students in supportive listening for students navigating life concerns outside of the classroom.
  • Assistance with locating various resources to meet students' diverse needs.
  • Advocate for student needs as they work to address concerns occurring in the classroom during their time as a student at RU.
