Professional Mentoring Program

Be a Mentee

Students are encouraged to take advantage of professional mentoring if you are: 

  • Currently enrolled at Roosevelt and have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours 
  • Committed to partnering with a mentor for a year and able to meet one hour a month
  • Excited to expand your career knowledge, skills, and engage in professional development opportunities

Be a Mentor

Roosevelt alumni and experienced professionals are encouraged to join if you are: 

  • A professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience 
  • Able to support a mentee for a year and meet one hour a month 
  • Committed to coaching and guiding a student to support their professional growth

Mentoring Partnerships

Mentees are partnered with mentors who have professional experiences related to their interests. Each mentoring pair establishes their own schedule. Meetings can take place in any location or format that works for them. Mentoring experiences can include:

  • Collaborating to establish goals for professional growth 
  • Expanding career-based knowledge and awareness of professional opportunities 
  • Discussing networking methods or teaming up to network together 
  • Reviewing skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for certain career paths 
  • Developmental opportunities, such as job shadowing, or informational interviews
