Students with Rubics Cubes

Roosevelt University’s Department of Mathematics, Actuarial Science and Economics and the Math Club are sponsoring the 9th Annual Math x-Position at the Chicago Campus on Friday, November 30 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Wabash Building, room 418. The event celebrates the achievements of our mathematics students.

The event kicks off with a student poster session at 9:15 a.m., followed by student presentations at 10:20 a.m. and a career panel at 11:15 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a plenary talk given by Dr. Tim Comar, professor of mathematics at Benedictine University. Dr. Comar will discuss “Mathematical Biology: Vaccination and Pest Control Strategies.”

Brian Shepard

Roosevelt University alumnus Brian Shepard (BS Computer Science '00) was recently named the Illinois Library Association (ILA) Librarian of the Year. The award recognizes "distinguished service and leadership in Illinois libraries." Shepard is the executive director of the Indian Trails Public Library in Wheeling, IL. After earning his degree in computer science from Roosevelt, Brian went on to earn his master's degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois.
