Your success is our number one priority. That's why the onboarding process for new students is designed to be personalized and meet you where you are in the process. Securing your seat in our incoming class requires you to complete advising, course registration, and New Student Orientation.
Advising and registration for new freshman will be completed as part of RU Ready, the university's new student onboarding program. RU Ready is designed to ensure a smooth transition to Roosevelt and features hands-on sessions led by Roosevelt's expert student services staff. In addition to advising and registration, important steps regarding financial aid, student accounts, residence life and student support services will be completed at RU Ready.
In early-May, newly deposited freshmen will be assigned to an RU Ready session. These sessions are held throughout the months of June and July.
At Roosevelt University, academic advising is an active partnership between you and your advisor, with the goal to develop, clarify, and evaluate your educational plan and to align it with your goals. It is this education plan that will guide your course selection and registration each semester. Fall registration opens March 1 and spring registration opens November 1.
Advising for new transfer students is completed through individualized appointments. These appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and require that the $200 admission deposit be submitted.
New Student Orientation is required for all incoming students and is held immediately before the start of each academic term. Additional information regarding this program will be provided to enrolled students approximately 8 weeks prior to orientation.
