Advising, Course Registration, and New Student Orientation

Your success is our number one priority. That's why the onboarding process for new students is designed to be personalized and meet you where you are in the process. Securing your seat in our incoming class requires you to complete advising, course registration, and New Student Orientation.

Academic Advising and Registration

At Roosevelt University, academic advising is an active partnership between you and your advisor, with the goal to develop, clarify, and evaluate your educational plan and to align it with your goals. It is this education plan that will guide your course selection and registration each semester. Fall registration opens March 1 and spring registration opens November 1.

Advising and registration for new freshman and transfer students will be completed at through individualized appointments. These appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and require that the $200 admission deposit be submitted.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is designed to make your transition to Roosevelt a positive experience. Become more closely acquainted with campus and explore the tools and resources available to you as a student. Most importantly, meet your classmates and future professors. A limited number of new freshmen will have the opportunity to stay overnight in RU's Wabash residence halls.

New Student Orientation for students entering in the fall semester are held in late-May, June, July, and early-August. Students entering in the spring term will complete orientation in early January.  

New Student Orientation is required for all new freshmen and transfer students. Additional information regarding New Student Orientation will be provided to admitted students by email.
