The AAS Degree in Drafting & Design Technology prepares students to use critical thinking and problem solving in development and communication of design solutions.Upon degree completion, students will be prepared for careers in computer-aided drafting, building information modeling, interior space planning and design, facilities and operations, and construction coordination.

Expectations & Requirements


According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, architect occupations are expected to grow 7% through 2024 which will provide increased job potential for students graduating from architectural drafting programs. Through RU’s drafting and design technology courses, graduates will find themselves primed for such jobs as architectural drafter, mechanical drafter, CAD drafter/technician, engineering design apprentice, layout designer, engineering technician and construction management assistant.
