Coburn has performed on several Chicago stages (Steppenwolf, Goodman, Writers, American Blues, Timeline, etc.), Off-broadway, and regionally. He is a founding member of the Irish Theater of Chicago (formerly Seanachai Theatre Company), and the author of Marked Tree, winner of the Osborn Award for Playwriting by the American Theatre Critics Association.
His on-camera credits include EMPIRE (Fox), CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO FIRE (NBC), BOSS (Starz), THE CHICAGO CODE (Fox), RECONSTRUCTION (NBC), MIND GAMES (ABC), ER (NBC), PRISON BREAK (Fox). Films include: MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V SUPERMAN, KILL THE LIGHT, WHAT WOMEN WANT, SHELTER, ONCE UPON A RIVER, and WIDOWS.
Commercials (voice over and on-camera) include: McDonald's, Humira, Capital One, Illinois Lottery, Dr. Scholl's, Country Financial and Zzquil.
In addition to teaching on-camera at RU, he teaches on-camera acting at the Actors' Studio of Chicago. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
