In 1998, I founded The Washburn Group, a training and consulting practice which focuses on communications skills, customer service organization and training, and the implementation of change through communications in corporations and other organizations.

Interests

Reading has always been a favorite past-time.  I read a wide variety of books, but generally read mysteries for relaxation.  This is an extension of my college days when I would read James Bond books during final exams to relax before I went to bed after a long period of study.

My husband and I are avid walkers.  We walk 4 miles each morning 7-days per week regardless of the weather, although on really bad days, we do join the inside mall walkers by necessity.

I enjoy gardening especially herbs which I use in cooking.  My husband and I enjoy entertaining; he plans the menus for our dinner parties and I do the decorating and cooking.

Summer also means golf…however, I never seem to improve, so it has become just an extension of our morning walks.  I play in a league so the social aspects are also fun.
