This course acquaints you with the world of tourism by presenting the various factors affected by this far-reaching industry. When this web tutorial is used as a study guide, you will not only be prepared to pass the Progress Tests and Final Examination, you should also have a better understanding of the range of opportunities and challenges awaiting you in your hospitality career.
This course is divided into thirteen assignments intended to guide you
through the material presented in the AH&MA text, Dimensions
of Tourism, which is part of this course. To test your understanding of the
topics and ideas presented, Review Quizzes and Progress Tests are included. These
exercises will help you decide if additional study or review is necessary.
Reasonable success in these tasks will lead to satisfactory results in the Final
Examination. You will also be expected to undertake a research project and prepare a
Final Report of your research.
Whenever possible, we urge you to combine this learning experience with actual application. Practical experience is considered a plus, not only in this course, but throughout your professional career.
Roosevelt University is dedicated to providing you, the student, with immediate feedback. Your instructor will be available to answer any questions you may have, and will want to get to know you on a personal basis. Feel free to use the space provided on the back of each Progress Test Answer Sheet for your questions and comments.
