Summer Stage! Schaumburg – 2008

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University introduces Summer Stage! musical theatre summer camp, August 11 - 15, 2008 at the RU Schaumburg http://auditoriumtheatre.org/wb/media/camp/THE%204%20GIRLS%201.JPGcampus. Summer Stage! is a one week day camp for children ages 9-13 who love to sing, dance and act. Kids at Summer Stage camp will have daily workshops in musical theatre, drama, music and dance as well as rehearsal for the final show! On Friday, cast members from Summer Stage will perform an original one act mini-musical. This is a great chance to learn about the performing arts, meet new friends and have a lot of fun!

  • What does a typical day look like at Summer Stage?
    Kids at Summer Stage camp will have daily workshops in musical theatre, drama, music and dance as well as rehearsal for the final show! On Friday, cast members from Summer Stage will perform an original one act mini-musical. This is a great chance to learn about the performing arts, meet new friends and have a lot of fun!
  • What to bring? Students will bring their own bag lunch and a pencil for their rehearsals. Snacks and water will be provided daily. Once music and scripts have been handed out, it is the campers’ responsibility to bring them daily to camp.
  • When is pick-up and drop-off? Students should arrive at the RU Schaumburg Campus' circle drive between 9:15 and 9:30am and should be picked up from camp between 3:30-3:45pm at the same location.
  • Who will teach at the camp? Summer Stage enjoys a high ratio of enthusiastic and talented artists to campers to ensure a safe and fulfilling week of fun. See information on camp director Adam Busch below!
  • When is the performance? The performance will be on the afternoon of Friday, August 15, 2008. More information will be sent to registered campers. Each child will have an opportunity to shine in the final performance. The performance will include singing, dancing and acting and will be an opportunity for the campers to share some of what they learned during camp with their family and friends.   • How do I register? Fill out the attached application and mail or fax it to Mary Fioretti, registrar.

  • Who’s Adam? Summer Stage Camp Director, Adam Busch has been working in Chicago area theatre for the past ten years. Both in the classroom and on stage, he has worked with  Lookingglass, Ravinia, Apple Tree, Marriott Lincolnshire, C.A.P.E. and the Deerfield Park District. Having spent many years working with kids in New York and on the east coast, Adam is happy to have found a home in Chicago.
