Residence Life

Stay tuned...Move-in information for fall 2007 will be coming soon!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can my family stay in my hall room overnight?

Families will need to find overnight accommodations outside of the residence halls. See this page for a listing of area lodging options.

2. What about parking and drop-off or pick-up?

Students moving into University Center will unload vehicles behind the building in the service drive just off Congress Parkway.  Herman Crown Center residents should park along Wabash Ave. and unload their items into the large cardboard bins that will be provided.  Please make sure that someone stays with your vehicle at all times to prevent it from being ticketed and towed.  Roosevelt University is not responsible for ticketing and/or towing by the City of Chicago.

Parking garages are located within steps of the university though none are affiliated with Roosevelt.  The costs can vary per garage and may change daily.  Students will be asked to move their cars away from the unloading area as soon as all items are unloaded.

3. Room and/or Roommate Changes

The policies may vary between the halls but generally students will need to reside in their assigned room for a minimum of two weeks into the semester before the process of changing rooms/roommates can take place. Your hall handbook will describe the specifics.

The UC and HCC management teams does their best to accommodate all room and roommate requests.

4. What Should I Bring??

Living in the UC? Then check-out their website at http://www.universitycenter.com/currentresidents/moving-in.html on what to bring instructions, as well as, move-in tips and policy procedures.

Hey, HCC students! Check-out our page for general hall info and click here for What To Bring advice!

5. When does my meal card begin?

Once student have activated their dining center cards they can begin using their Flex Dollars. Please note that university services (including dining at both halls) may be limited until the start of the semester.

6. Where are you located?

The UC is located at 525 South State Street and the HCC is at 425
South Wabash. This link will take you to the downtown campus at 430 South Michigan. The HCC hall is in the same building but on the Wabash side with UC just kiddie-corner on State Street.
