Independent Study

Eligibility:  Only degree-seeking students are eligible to enroll in independent study courses. 

Description of the Independent Study. It is a course proposed by a well-prepared student who wishes to pursue a specific advanced scholarly topic that is not available through regularly scheduled course work.  This type of study is largely the responsibility of the initiating student.  In most cases, sponsorship will be by full-time faculty.

Registration process: students must obtain all the required signatures on the Independent Study Contract & Registration form available online. The dean’s signature is always required. The fully completed form should be submitted to the Registrar’s Office at either campus in person, by mail, or by fax.

Online registration for the independent study is not available.
