How to Register Online via RU Access

1. You can register online if you are a new or continuing degree seeking student in good standing. Students at-large may not register via RU Access.

2. First, meet with your academic advisor to determine what courses are appropriate for your program/degree, and to obtain your registration code. Graduate students in the College of Business Administration may use their
6-digit birth date as a registration code. Changing the schedule also requires your advisor’s approval.

• Go to www.roosevelt.edu/ruaccess and click on RU Access.

• Enter USER ID, which is your Roosevelt ID number (either a social security number or a Roosevelt University assigned 9-digit number.)

• Enter Your PIN
Your initial PIN is either your birth date (in MMDDYY format) or, if your birth date is not in the system, the last six digits of your RU ID number.
If you attempt to login with an incorrect user ID or PIN 5 times, your access will be disabled. You will need to reset it by clicking the “Forgot PIN?” button the on login page, and then follow the steps on the screen. You may also call the Registrar’s Office at either campus to get it reset: (312) 341-3535 or (847) 619-7950.

• Click LOGIN
The system will require you to change your initial PIN to a unique six-character PIN to which only you have access. You can use any combination of letters and numbers.

If you forget your PIN, enter your user ID and click Forgot PIN? Answer your Security Question, and select a new PIN. You may also call or come to the Office of the Registrar at either campus to have it reset.

• Go to the Student Services & Financial Aid menu.

• Select Registration

• Select Term

• Select Add/Drop Classes

• Click Continue after reading the information on the screen.

• Enter the registration code you received from your advisor for the chosen semester.

• Enter the five-digit Course Reference Number(CRN) for each class you want to register in the Add Course table.

• When you have listed all CRNs, click Submit Changes.

If the course you would like to register for is closed, you may add your name to a wait list: (link)

Placing your Name on the Wait List for a Closed Class:

• Select Add/Drop classes

• If the class is closed, this will appear in the Status box on the far right with the number of students already on the list.

• Click on the Action drop down box on the left.

• Select Waitlist.

• Click Submit Changes

This will place you on the waitlist for that class. You will be notified by the Office of the Registrar if a space opens and you are registered. The notification may come via “MyMail” or by phone. Please check your email box frequently and also make sure the phone number on file with the university is current.

• Registration Fee Assessment (on Add/Drop page or in the Registration Menu). Verify credit hours and tuition/fee totals.

• Click Select Payment Option and choose your preferred payment method.

• Confirm the Term and click Submit Info.

• Read the message on the screen and click Agree.

• Print your Promissory Note, sign it, and submit it to the Student Finance Center by fax: (312) 341-6395 or (847) 619-8461 mail or in person.

• Click Finalize Registration.

• If paying by credit card, click Credit Card Payment; if not, click View/Print Your Schedule.

• Exit and close the browser to protect your privacy.

Note:
Once you have your advisor’s approval for the changes you want, use the Change Class Options to change a variable hour course. Register in person in the Office of the Registrar if the class has already begun, and it is too late to register online. You will need to present a written or emailed permission from the instructor to join the class later.
