External Studies Program

New: Important Dates for Each Semester

Students who wish to take credit bearing courses that offer more flexibility in terms of deadlines and starting dates should consider the External Study option.  In External Studies classes, students work independently under the direction of a Roosevelt faculty member.  The external studies semester is up to six months long, although students can complete their work anytime before that deadline.  The courses are equivalent to on-campus courses in terms of credit offered and academic content.  Students can receive financial aid for External Studies courses.  Students can register throughout the year with the permission of their academic advisor.  External Studies modules are available in print of CD versions.  Current External Studies courses are listed in the Roosevelt University Class Schedule online.

  • Prior to registration students should meet with their academic advisors to discuss the External Study course option.
  • Students may register for External Studies courses up to the 7th week of the regular semester. The deadline for each semester is posted in the Important Dates section.
