The 11th annual Gerald Fogelson Forum on Real Estate kicked off on October 7 with a panel presentation addressing the foreclosure crisis in Chicago. Andrew J. Mooney, executive director, LISC/Chicago; William Goldsmith, regional president, Mercy Housing; Ellen K. Sahli, commissioner of housing, Department of Community Development, City of Chicago and Louis N. Mallers, director, Chicago Bancorp participated on the panel, which was moderated by Dr. John McDonald, Gerald W. Fogelson Distinguished Chair in Real Estate, Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate, Roosevelt University. $55 million has been allocated to the City of Chicago to acquire and redevelop properties in neighborhoods most affected by foreclosures and Forum attendees were able to meet with the decision makers and learn about the program and the participation opportunities it creates. Bill Goldsmith (left), regional president of Mercy Housing, Ellen Sahli (center), Chicago’s Commissioner of Housing, and Lou Mallers, director of Chicago Bancorp, were panelists at the kickoff of the 11th annual Gerald Fogelson Forum on Real Estate. The speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities brought on by Chicago’s foreclosure crisis. Rich Gdowski, Tom Small and Joseph Pasquinelli of Archideas Inc.; Dennis Harder of Joseph Freed and Associates, and Joe Wisniewski, Deloitte, get together during the networking hour before the Gerald Fogelson Forum on Real Estate. Hosted by Roosevelt University and the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate, the program featured a panel discussion about the current foreclosure crisis. This year’s Gerald Fogelson Forum on Real Estate featured a panel presentation that addressed the foreclosure crisis in Chicago and its impact on the real estate market.
