Alpha Sigma Gamma

The International Real Estate Honorary Society

                                  

Alpha Sigma Gamma was created in 1993 to recognize the scholastic achievements of students in university real estate programs. ASG also recognizes the participation and contributions of real estate faculty and the real estate professional community in real estate education. Alpha Sigma Gamma is the only international organization for the recognition real estate student academic excellence in the world. Sponsored by the American Real Estate Society, Alpha Sigma Gamma currently consists of over 275 members on 20 U.S. universities.

The President of Alpha Sigma Gamma is Forrest E. Huffman. Professor Huffman is a professor of real estate and finance in the Fox School of Business at Temple University.  He has published in numerous academic real estate journals and has taught a wide variety of real estate courses over a 25 year plus career.  He has served as a consultant for private firms and state and local governments. He is a frequent interviewee by local, regional and national media on real estate markets and trends.

Membership Criteria

 

Graduate Student Members - Master’s Level

In order to qualify for membership master’s level students must:

 

Graduate Student Members - Doctoral Level

In order to qualify for membership doctoral students must:

  • Have made substantial progress in the required work for the doctoral degree.
  • Have completed a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of real estate and related course work or the equivalent.

 

  • Have a grade point average of 3.75 or better on a four-point scale on for graduate real estate and related coursework.                   

 

  • Have demonstrated the ability to successfully complete a doctoral degree program.

 

  • Have good academic standing at the institution.
