Center for Teaching and Learning
Welcome to Roosevelt University’s Center for Teaching and Learning! CTL aims to promote excellence in teaching at Roosevelt through a variety of programs. From teaching forums to on-line seminars on improving instruction, the CTL researches and provides education on teaching practices, effective evaluation methods and innovative course design.
Professional development online, on-demand, anytime, anywhere
All members of the Roosevelt University community have access to two professional development video library resources. Magna Commons offers in-depth presentations (60+ minutes). 20-Minute Mentor Commons offers focused, shorter-length presentations. Both libraries offer a range of topics including titles in the following categories: academic administration; assessment and learning goals; classroom management; legal concerns; physical, mental, and emotional concerns; service learning; student engagement; teaching and learning; and teaching online. These videos can be viewed individually or as part of Roosevelt meetings and events. Access instructions are on the restricted area of the CTL website.
2014 RU Mini-Conference on Teaching (RUMCOT)
RUMCOT’s 2014 theme “Innovation: Meeting the Needs of Higher Education’s Changing Landscape” invites the RU community to share the various ways innovation in specific areas has improved, or even complicated, what we do as educators and administrators who all contribute to teaching and learning on campus. For more information on presenting or attending, please contact Kimberly Ruffin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
