John Cicero

BIOGRAPHY

Dean Cicero joined Roosevelt University in the summer of 2007. He has extensive experience in adult, international, and professional programs.

Prior to coming to Roosevelt, he served at Benedictine University for 22 years where he wore many hats including: Professor of Computer Science and Dean of Academic Affairs.

As dean, he has worked with the faculty and staff to develop Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees in Springfield, Illinois and in Shenyang, China.  He established student exchange programs with schools in France and Spain. He was part of the development team that launched an online MBA program, an online MPH program, a weekend college for working adults, Sports Management and Sports Communication concentrations, and The Business Management Institute Seminar Series.

During the dean’s tenure at Benedictine University, he consulted with several companies. At Systems & Electronics, Inc., he developed a GPS-based flight scoring system; he was a member of the Shock Trial Team for the Aircraft Carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt; and he developed black-box flight recorders for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. At BoatMaster, he was responsible for the complete software design of a small boat-handling simulator. He also consulted with Tellabs, Rockwell-Wescom, The Communication Co., and Electrodynamics. Dean Cicero has published over 20 technical articles and has one patent.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master of Science from Northwestern University.
