Francis Carroll (BA, ’54) received a framed copy of a Roosevelt University alumni magazine article about her and her identical twin sister, Grace Dawson (BA, ’54), from President Chuck Middleton prior to a special meeting of the Illinois Board of Higher Education held March 11 at the University. Carroll, a member of the IBHE, attended the meeting which focused on strategic priorities for higher education in Illinois.

President Chuck Middleton presented his annual State of the University Address on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 29, 2008, at the Schaumburg Campus. Earlier in the day he gave the address at the Chicago Campus. Large crowds at both campuses heard the President describe the many ways the Roosevelt community has been accomplishing the goals set forth in the University’s 2003 Strategic Plan.

After a press conference at Roosevelt University on Nov. 12, 2007, Roosevelt University alumna Melissa Bean, Congresswoman from the Illinois' Eighth Congressional District and Representative Steny Hoyer (center), the House Majority leader from Maryland's Fifth District, met with President Chuck Middleton. Newman was recognized by the University's Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate for his many contributions to the field of real estate. He also is a member of the advisory board for the University's Chicago School of Real Estate.

ACE Fellows from universities across the country visited Roosevelt University on August 23 to learn about the administration of an urban university dedicated to social justice and inclusion. During their visit to Roosevelt, the fellows met with Roosevelt University President Chuck Middleton (far left) and Provost and Executive Vice President Pamela Trotman Reid, toured the University, and participated in discussions with Michael Durnil, Toni Potenza and Bud Beatty, Roosevelt administrators who are alumni of the program. The ACE Fellows Program is the nation's premier higher education leadership development program for preparing senior leaders to serve American colleges and universities. Since 1965, hundreds of vice presidents, deans, department chairs, faculty, and other emerging leaders have participated in the program sponsored by the American Council on Education.

The $20 million community center is the nation's most comprehensive center for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Middleton is a board member of the Center on Halsted.

The institute, headed by Paul Green, an internationally known political commentator and Roosevelt’s Arthur Rubloff Professor of Policy Studies, will use the grant to conduct non-partisan analyses of elections.
