Greetings from President Chuck Middleton

I am delighted to welcome you to Roosevelt University, a national leader in educating socially conscious citizens.  Roosevelt was founded in 1945 on the principles of inclusion and social justice, and we are the only the institution of higher education named in honor of both President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt.

I joined Roosevelt in 2002 because its values and aspirations resonated with me both personally and professionally.  That was one of the best decisions I ever made.  Throughout Roosevelt, you will find that people are uniformly dedicated to student success and the principles of the University.

Classes at Roosevelt University are small, faculty members are accessible and there are practically no teaching assistants.  Our 7,200 students study in and around one of the world’s most dynamic cities, Chicago.  The Chicago Campus is within walking distance of internationally famous museums, corporate headquarters, cutting-edge theaters and excellent restaurants.  Our Schaumburg Campus, located in the northwest suburbs, is near major corporations, O’Hare International Airport and growing suburban population centers.

A few years ago, the University community developed a forward looking Strategic Plan, http://www.roosevelt.edu/strategicplan/goalsandobjectives.htm, which sets forth our goals and objectives as a student-centered university.  Our highest priority is to provide students with first-rate academic programs and activities so that they can graduate with the skills necessary to be successful leaders in the global economy wherever their lives make take them.

I encourage you to explore the University’s website and learn what makes Roosevelt such a special place.  In addition to pages devoted to academic programs, student life activities, admission requirements and faculty profiles, you can learn about our unique institutes, like the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice, http://www.roosevelt.edu/misj/default.htm, and our world renowned theatre, the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, http://auditoriumtheatre.org/wb/.

Thanks for your interest in Roosevelt University.  I look forward to seeing you around campus.

Sincerely,

Chuck Middleton
President
