You're Invited: Vivid Concert & Parent Reception
The Chicago College of Performing Arts annual Vivid concert, featuring the CCPA Symphony Orchestra and Choirs, is Monday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Auditorium Theatre. 2008-09 Housing Contracts Now Available

Housing contracts for 2008-09 are now available online.  Students can log onto RU Access to complete their application/contract to live in University Center or the new Roosevelt on Washington (ROW) in Fornelli Hall for next year. A $500 pre-payment is required within two business days of housing contract being received.  More information >>

New Deal Service Days: April 11 & 12
New Deal Service Days were created on 2003 as a campus-wide community service experience for Roosevelt students, alumni, faculty and staff.  Hundreds volunteer each year to help organizations near the Chicago and Schaumburg Campuses such as shelters, animal rescue sites and retirement homes.  Your students are encourages to participate either on their own or with a group of friends.  More information >>

Social Justice Grant Received
Roosevelt’s Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation has received a $300,000 grant from the Albert & Anne Mansfield Foundation that will enable it to integrate social justice into the University’s curriculum.  More information >>

Admission Open Houses

Do you know a potential Roosevelt student?  Your referral can make a difference.  The Office of Admission is hosting open houses on Saturday, April 5 at the Schaumburg Campus and Saturday, April 12 at the Chicago Campus from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.  Please encourage a potential Roosevelt to visit campus during these events.  More information >>

Schaumburg Dodgeball Tournament


The Schaumburg Campus Center for Student Life hosted its inaugural Dodgeball Tournament on Friday, Feb. 29 in Alumni Hall. The winning team, the Drive By Ballers, went undefeated.

Leadership Summit

Roosevelt students made history when they attended the first Leadership Summit at the Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center on March 7-9. The summit was coordinated by the Chicago Center for Student Involvement. During the three-day, two-night summit, students attended leadership workshops, held round table discussions about Roosevelt issues and were able to reflect on their own leadership development. The summit was so successful that plans are being made to make it an annual event.

Legacy Project Performs in Ganz Hall

The Legacy Project IV, a Celebration of Black Music, was held in Ganz Hall Monday, March 3. Organized by RU student Adrian Dunn and featured the music of Tage Larsen, Candace Taylor, Dana Brown, the Legacy Celebration Choir and Hopera '08.

Business Leaders Meeting in Schaumburg

Northwest suburban mayors, chamber of commerce executives and business leaders were on hand on Thursday, Feb. 21 as US Representative Melissa Bean (D-8th) and US Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) hosted a luncheon on the Schaumburg Campus. Pictured here are Jill Blodgett, executive director, Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce; Paul Swanson, business manager, Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters; Bill McLeod, mayor, Hoffman Estates; Representative Bean; Senator Durbin; and Toni Potenza, vice president and dean of the Schaumburg Campus.

NIU Vigil

Roosevelt President Chuck Middleton and members of the Roosevelt community attended a vigil on Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Herman Crown Center to remember the victims of the tragedy at Northern Illinois University.
