Around Campus

You're Invited to a Night in the City!

Roosevelt parents are cordially invited to the Chicago College of Performing Arts annual Vivid concert on Monday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium Theatre.  The concert will feature works by Leonard Burnstein and Gustav Mahler.  Tickets are free for RU parents and you're invited to a reception following the performance.  To RSVP, please email the Office of Student Services at studentservices@mymail.roosevelt.edu with your name, student's name and number of attendees.  Questions?  Call us at 312-341-2190.

New Deal Service Days

Roosevelt's annual community service event offers Roosevelt University students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends the opportunity to work together helping others at sites in Chicago and Schaumburg.  New Deal Service Days are Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.  Click here to view the schedule of events.

Fall Registration Begins March 1

Registration for fall 2009 classes starts March 1.  Encourage your student to make an appointment with an academic advisor and register early to ensure the best selection of classes.

Inauguration Day at Roosevelt

Roosevelt University students, faculty and staff watched and cheered the inauguration of President Barack Obama on two television screens in the University's Chicago cafeteria. There were also "viewing parties" at the Gage Building and Schaumburg Campus. Among those whose who came to witness the President's swearing-in ceremony and speech was Assistant Professor of Philosophy Zarco Minkov, who passed an exam on Jan. 19 to become a new American citizen. December Graduation

New Roosevelt graduates immediately after receiving their degrees on Dec. 19 in the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University.

Roosevelt President Middleton, Timuel D. Black (a Roosevelt alumnus, author and educator who received a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa), Melissa Bean (a Roosevelt alumna, Congresswoman and entrepreneur who received a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa, and delivered the Commencement address), and Board of Trustees Chairman James J. Mitchell III.
