Did You Know?

Internships are designed to provide career related work experiences concurrent or alternating with academic coursework.

Students can work in a field related to their major while going to school. The purpose of this experience is to provide direction and enrichment to their education, and to enhance their value as an employee upon graduation.

Service Days

New Deal Service Days are almost here!  This annual community service event brings Roosevelt University students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends together to help others at sites in Chicago and Schaumburg.  Over 400 people have registered to participate in New Deal Service Days on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.  More information >>

"Roosevelt Review" Now Available

Mansfield Institute for Social Justice & Transformation

The Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation, created in 1999 through a generous gift from the Mansfield Foundation, gives Roosevelt a unique opportunity to develop an integrated program of curriculum, research, and outreach focused on social justice issues.  The goal of the Institute is to elevate and foster social consciousness among students, faculty and members of our community, through a pedagogy of transformational learning and through rich social justice programming in the areas of human rights, social and political action, and the arts.  More information >>

Roosevelt Snapshots

A "Vivid" Evening

Roosevelt's Chicago College of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra and faculty presented "Vivid," the 2009 Gala Concert at the Auditorium Theatre on April 6. Internationally acclaimed soloists Frederica von Stade (pictured above) and Richard Stilwell performed works by Leonard Bernstein and Gustav Mahler under the direction of Professor Stephen Squires. Newly appointed CCPA Dean Henry Fogel served as the master of ceremonies.  Roosevelt parents received complimentary tickets to the event and were invited to a reception following the concert.


China Study Abroad Trip

Eighteen Roosevelt students, faculty and staff traveled to China for two weeks in March.  The trip was organized and led by Rubee Li Fuller, Director of International Programs.  Click here for information about study abroad at Roosevelt.

Guitar Festival at Roosevelt

One hundred and fifty premier classical guitarists attended the 17th annual Midwest Guitar Ensemble Festival held March 20-22 in Ganz Hall, Auditorium Building. The festival, which was coordinated by Pamela Kimmel, associate professor of guitar, featured dozens of classical guitarists from Midwest universities and colleges performing together as a "guitar orchestra."

RU Global Lecture

Jim Kolbe, senior transatlantic fellow for the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), addressed the importance of free trade and human rights during the March 12 RU Global lecture at Roosevelt. Kolbe, a retired U.S. Congressman from Arizona, advises GMF on trade matters as well as the effectiveness of U.S. aid to foreign countries. He also consults on U.S. and European relations and on immigration and its connection to development.
