Submission Guidelines

Oyez Review publishes fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art. There are no restrictions on style, theme, or subject matter. Fiction and creative nonfiction submissions should be typed and double spaced, in a standard font and font size. The use of 8.5 x 11 white paper is recommended. There are no strict length restrictions, but due to space limitations we are unlikely to publish any manuscripts longer than fifteen to twenty pages (4,500-5,500 words). We consider poetry submissions of up to five poems, not to exceed ten pages total.

For art, please send slides or high-resolution .jpg files on a CD. Please send at least twenty black and white images. Art submissions cannot be considered for publication without enough artwork to fill Oyez Review's eight-page portfolio and front and back covers. Artist may also submit via email.

All submissions must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage for reply. Submissions received without an SASE will not be considered. Only writers from abroad may be sent via email.

Email submissions are accepted from artists. Writers living abroad may also opt for email submissions; all other writers must mail submissions.

Our annual reading period is August 1 through October 1. Submissions received before or after this period will be returned unread. Please note we do not accept e-mail submissions. Simultaneous submissions and previously published work will not be considered.
