Interviewing Skills | Office of Career Services

During the closing of the interview, make note of the date that the interviewer told you that you could expect to hear from him/her. If you do not hear from the prospective employer on that date, telephone the interviewer the next morning. Mention that you had interviewed for the position and reiterate you interest. Then simply ask if the position has been filled. If it has not, ask when that decision will be made and make note of that date. Continue this process until you find out that it has been filled. There have been many cases where the candidate who got the job was the candidate who followed through.
