Best Places to Work in the Federal Government - The most comprehensive and authoritative rating of employee engagement in the federal government.

2010 Census Employment Opportunities - The Census Bureau will hire thousands of people to conduct the 2010 Census. The Chicago Region will open 11 temporary Early Local Census Offices (ELCOs) in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin in late 2008. Hiring will begin in the fall of 2008 and early 2009. An additional 25 temporary Local Census Offices (LCOs) will open in late 2009 with peak hiring taking place in the spring of 2010.

Club Fed - This site provides information and links to a variety of government opportunities.

HillZoo - Free job listings for government jobs on the Hill.

Federal Jobs - information on federal job searching, including a section on Federal Law Enforcement jobs.

Government Printing Office - This site provides information on the publications currently available from all areas of government.

The Heritage Foundation - A public policy thinktank. Publishes Policy Review Magazine.

Hill News Periodical - Capitol Hill information and job openings.

Presidential Management Fellows Program - The purpose of the Program, for recent graduate school graduates, is to attract to the Federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.

Public Affairs Opportunities - Subscription required to receive current opportunities in Public Relations, Government Affairs, Legislation, Print & Broadcast Journalism on Capitol Hill, in nonprofits, corporations, and Federal Agencies in the Washington, DC metropolitan area by subscribing to Opportunities in Public Affairs.

Roll Call - Washington D.C. Federal government openings and Capital Hill news and information.

Thomas Legislation Information - This site provides current and historical information on bills, laws, and legislation.

USAJOBS - The official job site of the United States Federal Government.  It's your one-stop source for Federal jobs and employment information.

White House Page - The "Interactive Citizens' Guide" on this page is an excellent resource for linking to other federal agencies and departments. This is also a valuable tool for researching policy matters, locating White House offices, and learning how to contact various White House Resources.

Work 4 Illinois - The State provides job opportunities in a wide range of occupations and titles. This website will guide you through the state employment process for the departments under the jurisdiction of the Governor.

 

It is important to note that many departments and agencies within federal, state, and municipal government will list jobs. Be sure to check the departments and or agencies for specific openings.
