Chicago Labor Oral History Project This project began in the 1970s, when Roosevelt University Professor Elizabeth Balanoff received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to conduct a series of interviews in the Chicago area with people involved in the labor movement. The result was 100 interviews, totaling 8000 transcribed pages, many of interest to those researching the New Deal. In 2001, we applied for, and received a grant from the Illinois State Library to Digitize these papers and make them available on our web site. We are now in the process of making that happen.
