Student E-mail
Institute for Continued Learning

Another ICL Member Benefit: A Prestigious Free E-MAIL address...available from ANY computer, anywhere with Internet access (such as most public libraries, the Schaumburg Campus Library, etc.).

All members who have their yearly dues paid can activate their own accounts by following these instructions:

* While on the internet, go the the “address” line of your screen, and type in http://mymail.roosevelt.edu

• Click on the “Enter” key. The screen that comes up is the same one you will use to access your account, once it is activated. If you have already activated it, and are going to use it, skip the next steps with a double asterisk.

**Do not fill in the username and password at this time, as you do not have one yet. Instead, go to the following paragraph on the screen that comes up, and click on the word “here”.

** All currently registered Roosevelt students are eligible for a Web-based
e-mail account. To activate your account click here.

** This will bring up the activation screen: (The screen calls for your student number. Your student number is your social security number. If this is a problem for you, or it the activation doesn’t work and keeps asking you for your password, contact the Staff Liaison - ICL, 847-619-7288 or icl@roosevelt.edu) (Follow the instructions on the screen.)

**When you have completed these instructions, you have finished the steps you need to activate your account.

**To use your account after you have activated it, go back to the Internet address http://mymail.roosevelt.edu and hit enter.

As before, this will bring up the screen you started with before you activated your account. This time, you do have a username and password that you can fill in, then click on Log in and you will be at your new e-mail inbox, and even have a “welcome” message. If you have not used e-mail before, you are in for a pleasant surprise, but you will have questions. Feel free to ask almost anyone you know that has it, or, you can ask by contacting 847-619-4854 or ICL@roosevelt.edu.

It should be noted that an ICL member can establish an e-mail account, even if they've opted not to provide their SS# when they've registered to join the ICL. So, for those who haven't provided SS#'s, but wish to establish an e-mail account, here's what they do:

For the ID#, instead of the SS#, they can establish their own ID # by creating a 9-digit number that begins with 1111 and then they add another 5 numbers of their choosing. This takes the place of a SS# and will allow them to establish an email account. They should note this number so that they don't forget it and have it ready when needed. However, this process may not be able to activate the account until they have communicated their own ID# to the webmaster through the Staff Liaison - ICL, 847-619-7288 or icl@roosevelt.edu.
