Institute for Continued Learning

1. The biggest benefit is the opportunity to interact on a day-to-day basis with people who are just not ready for the rocking-chair full-time; our members love life and continue to live it and enjoy it with the help of interesting conversations and stimulating class sessions. They use their minds and keep mentally alert.

2. Opportunity to be as active a learner as you wish to be...listen, speak, even lead a session or be a coordinator.

5. Classes conveniently held in 3 short sessions that tend to avoid time conflicts with those who go to warmer climes in the winter months as well as major holidays.

6. Between-session go to special events such as lectures, art presentations, plays, points of special interest, musical presentations, at modest or no additional cost.

7. ICL members are granted the same privileges as Roosevelt University Students and are issued Student I.D.s. With an ID, a member can: Use the school library. Buy educational version of software at greatly reduced prices at the school bookstore or elsewhere with your student I.D. Be entitled to student discounts at the many places that honor the student I.D, (including free lawn seats at Ravinia for Chicago Symphony Orchestra Performances, and Martin Theater Nights {excluding Martini Nights} or a good discount towards a sheltered seat); sometimes larger discount than the senior discount.

8. Audit any class at either or both Roosevelt campuses without paying anything more than the regular annual ICL membership fee ($110, or $55 if you are a coordinator).

9. Learning opportunity in many different subjects of general interest and also of interest to seniors.
