RU Perspective, 2007 - 2008 Participants
Pauline BoettcherTransfer Credit EvaluatorPauline Boettcher is an undergraduate Transfer Credit Evaluator and has held this position for the last four years. Prior to that, she worked part-time in the Office of Admissions, then as an articulation clerk at the Welcome Center. Prior to her employment at Roosevelt University, Pauline worked in the medical field as Supervisor of the Pulmonary Lab at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. After having her third child, Pauline’s family moved from Chicago to Arlington Heights where she spent several years between her two professions as a full time mom. Sherry BucaroAssociate Director of AdmissionSherry manages the daily operation of the Office of Admission at the Chicago Campus. As the Associate Director of Admission, Sherry works closely with her colleagues to plan and execute local and regional recruitment initiatives. She coordinates and plans on- campus events such as the Open Houses and Information Sessions and reviews the files of those seeking undergraduate and graduate admission to the University. Sherry has worked at the University since August 2000, as an Admission Counselor and then Assistant Director of Admission. Sherry is an honors graduate of both Elmhurst College (BA) and National-Louis University (MA). Outside of Roosevelt, Sherry plays the tenor saxophone in a professional band and enjoys travel, baking, home decorating, making crafts, and spending time with family. Ann M. CarterCollections SpecialistFor six years, Ann worked as a Cashier Supervisor, here at Roosevelt University. In November of 2006, she was promoted to Collections Specialist. Ann earned a B.A. in Business Administration (with honors) as well as a M.S. in Human Resources Management at Roosevelt. Ann’s goal is to go into the Human Resources field and hopes to become an HR Generalist or Manager. Ann has one son, Justin who is seven years old and loves to play football. She recently joined a volunteer group at her son’s school, Beasley Academic Center, which consists of a group of parents that mentor the gifted students. Ann enjoys many interests which include cooking, reading, traveling, sports, and dancing. Denise CosmanAccountant, Auditorium TheaterDenise began her employment at Roosevelt University’s Auditorium Theater in April 2001. However her association with the theatre dates back to 1998 when, as a consultant, she worked at the Auditorium Theatre. Denise has worked for Allied Tube & Conduit Corp., Applied Learning International, Inc., Transamerica Commercial Finance Corp., and Desmond and Ahern, Ltd. since graduating from St. Xavier University in 1985. As an accountant for the Auditorium Theater, Denise works as part of a 3-person team to handle accounts payables and receivables, account for contributions, and manage the payroll/benefit process. In addition, each event is balanced separately with the production company accounting for all ticket sales and production costs. Denise is married and has 2 boys – ages 16 and 13. Christy HarperAssociate Director of AdmissionChristy Harper is the Associate Director of Admission and has over 12 years of higher education experience. She brings an in-depth knowledge of the BANNER system with her to Roosevelt. She has worked for four years in the propriety sector in various roles including a high school recruiter & financial aid counselor. Christy also has four years experience working at Purdue University Calumet in the Admission Office. She also had the opportunity to work and train at SunGard Higher Education (SCT). Christy was born and raised in Indiana. She enjoys traveling back to the Hoosier state and visiting family and friends. She also enjoys her yearly road trips to the Badlands, Black hills, and Yellowstone. Constance N. JacksonClient Services and FWS CoordinatorConstance has been employed with Roosevelt’s downtown campus since November 2001 as the Client Services & FWS Program Coordinator. She has also held professional positions at Aurora University and Lewis University in the area of student services. Connie spent two years as the Program Coordinator as well as a tutor for the Adult Basic Reading Program located in the Harold Washington Library. Connie earned her Bachelor’s in communications at Columbia College in 1989 and her Master’s in Human Services Administration from Spertus College in 1992. Connie’s hobbies include the collection of music, movies, books, and vintage glassware. She loves attending theatre performances and has seen WICKED three times. Connie enjoys creative writing, as well as digital photography, but would love to experiment with 35mm black and white film. In her spare time she walks and works on her Soduko skills. Holly LaPorteAssistant Director, ETRCHolly is the Assistant Director for the Educational Technology Resource Center. She began her career at Roosevelt in the fall of 2000 as Assistant to the Director of Administrative Services, then as a coordinator at ETRC. Her primary responsibilities include managing a diverse staff of part time employees, and making sure the faculty and staff receives classroom technology to conduct their classes and/or meetings. She is also involved in video conferencing and computer labs. Holly graduated from the University of Montana with a B.A. in History. Since joining Roosevelt she has begun taking classes to receive her Master’s degree. Holly was born in Alaska and grew up in the Western U.S. After graduating from high school, she joined the Air Force and spent 4 years stationed in Germany. She has quite a love for travel and has visited Europe a couple of times a year. Patrick LytleProduction ManagerPatrick Lytle has been keeping Roosevelt University’s marketing materials on track since 2004 as Production Manager. Patrick oversees the day to day operations of the creative staff on the 13th floor and collaborates with designers and writers on projects, secures necessary approvals, and then coordinates each project’s fulfillment with sources outside the university. He also negotiates with vendors to ensure the university’s materials effectively reflect its mission and are produced cost-effectively and with high quality. Patrick graduated from Roosevelt University in 1991. Sarah Manzeske Director, Center for Student Involvement Sarah Manzeske, Director of the Center for Student Involvement in Chicago, has just finished her third year at Roosevelt University. Beginning in August 2004 as the Assistant Director of Student Activities, she was promoted to Director in July 2006. Sarah loves every moment of her Roosevelt career even with all of the vast changes to her position. Sarah oversees several programs and organizations at the Chicago campus including the SPEED program board, new student orientation programs, the First Year Experience program, leadership development programs, student organizations, community service and the Student Government Association. Previously, Sarah was the coordinator for student community development at Benedictine where she coordinated the new student orientation program, and advised the Student Government Association. She took student leaders on several conferences and led them through leadership development seminars. Sarah also led a group of 8 students on a Mission Trip to Sucre, Bolivia, working with children in various orphanages and correctional facilities. Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Valparaiso University and her Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Central Missouri State University. |
