Re: Required training - Sexual Harassment To: All new full-or part-time clerical or administrative employees From: Marian Schranz-Messaris Date: July 14, 2000 In an effort to protect the rights and responsibilities each of us has to work in a harassment free environment, and to help protect the University and individual employees from legal liability, we have purchased a course on sexual harassment. This interactive course will be presented via the internet or intranet, and was developed in cooperation with New Media Learning. This customized course supports the University policy against harassment and will help us meet the policy requirement of annual training. This course is required for all full- and part-time administrative and clerical employees and full-time faculty. Susan Rohde, Manager of Staff Training & Development, selected a course that is both quick and convenient. President Gross and the Administrative Council have seen this program, given their approval, and ask for your support and participation. The course can be accessed from any computer. At the University, the course can be found at on the Intranet. From any computer outside the University, the URL is www.newmedialearning.com. Go to Products, then scroll down to Roosevelt University. There are also several copies of the course on floppy disc that can be made available to you. Should you require assistance accessing this course, please don't hesitate to contact Susan Rohde at ext. 2198. The course will take less than one hour including the Mastery Test. Results of the Mastery Test and the Course Evaluation will be sent directly to Human Resources. A score of 80% is required. Current staff and faculty are asked to complete the course no later than October 14, 2000. As a new member of the RU community, we ask that you complete the course within 30 days of employment here. Your Dean or Department Manager will receive a monthly status report of who has successfully completed the course and who has not. Your participation demonstrates the importance of protecting the individual's rights to work in a harassment-free environment, and helps limit the University's liability from such claims. Please contact Susan Rohde at ext. 2198 with questions.
